VHF (136–174 MHz) — F3400 Series: Best for wide-open outdoor spaces, agriculture, and marine environments.

VHF Railroad — F3400DT: Includes AAR channels preprogrammed and accessible through the keypad.

UHF L (380–470 MHz) — F4400 Series: Standard UHF band, ideal for penetrating indoor structures, warehouses, and multi-level buildings.

UHF H (450–512 MHz) — F4400 Series: High-UHF (T-Band) frequency range, typically reserved for specific public safety and specialized commercial networks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the Icom F3400D and F4400D need to be programmed?
Yes. Configure the radio for your fleet's frequencies and channel settings before use. You can order Atlantic Radio Programming Services, or program it yourself using the official Icom programming software included with your radio order and a separately sold Icom OPC2338 USB programming cable. Use the Icom software for this series, not Motorola MOTOTRBO CPS.
Does this radio come with programming software?
Yes. When you purchase an Icom F3400D or F4400D Series radio from Atlantic Radio, the official Icom programming software is included at no extra cost. The OPC2338 programming cable is sold separately. Software inclusion applies to the radio package, not to a standalone cable purchase.
Can I use the same programming cable as a Motorola CM200d or CM300d?
No. The F3400D/F4400D series uses the Icom OPC2338 14-pin USB cable. The Motorola PMKN4147A cable and MOTOTRBO CPS software used for the CM series are not the programming setup for these Icom radios.
What is the difference between the F3400D and F4400D series?
The F3400D is the VHF version (136–174 MHz). The F4400D is offered in UHF L (380–470 MHz) and UHF H (450–512 MHz) versions. Select the band that matches your fleet's operating frequencies.
Is this radio compatible with older analog radios?
The series supports analog and IDAS digital operation. Communication with an analog radio requires matching frequency bands, frequencies, and analog channel settings. Digital communication requires matching NXDN system settings; IDAS NXDN is not the same digital protocol as MOTOTRBO DMR.
Can I use a Bluetooth headset with this radio?
Yes. The built-in Bluetooth module supports hands-free audio operation with compatible wireless headsets. Confirm headset compatibility before purchasing.
